Memory Runs

BYU-Hawaii Athletics article on Heidi

BYU-Hawaii Women's XC team dedicated their home meet on Oct. 19, 2013 to Heidi.  She was supposed to have been there this fall and running with these darling girls.  Zach Zufelt a dear family friend is attending BYU-H and is holding the photo of Heidi.  I love these kids for reaching out and supporting us.  It was reported back to me by Casey, one of the runners, that the team took 2nd and they all ran well and with Heidi lifting them.  She said it was an incredible experience for all the girls.

The BYU-H women displaying the back of their shirts!  They truly did
Act like a Lady
RUN LIKE A BOSS
Cinda ran her first half-marathon in Folsom yesterday along with Trici! They took Heidi along for the run wearing their Heidi shirts.  These two ladies are wonderful! Cinda and Paige have run Ragnar together for two years and Trici joined us this year.

The Benemelis Ladies are running the Nike Womens Marathon today, Oct 20, 2013 in honor of Heidi.  The Benemelis boys are twins and were two of Heidi's closes friends at Rocklin High.  They are darling boys.  They made a special stop over the summer to her grave and left a beautiful lily, ribbon with all the friends signed notes on it and a special camp necklace.  They are a darling family and we love that they did all this for us.  Thanks

Brook and Lindsey Heaton live out on the East Coast and ran for Heidi!  Heaton's were our neighbors and friends of  in O'Fallon, Illinois.  Lindsey is a cancer survivor and we had the honor to help them when she was going through all her cancer treatments.  They had a new baby named Peter and we got to keep him, even over night, and we loved it.
"It was a gorgeous day at Golden Gate Park and more than 30,000 women athletes ran for a cause.  It just seemed so right and fitting that Alex ran in Heidi's memory during this race; a race that celebrates beautiful strong women athletes." Quote from Mrs. Prekeges who is Alex and Adam's mother but also she was the teacher Heidi worked with in the elementary classroom her senior year.  Adam was a good friend to Heidi on XC team.
